One of Simplicity mfg’s most popular lawn tractors, the Simplicity Regent comes in three models. There is the base line 19/38, sporting a 19.5 Hp Briggs & Stratton Intek engine with a 38 inch (96.5cm) cutting deck and its two bigger brothers; the 22/44 and 23/46 (the latter with a Kohler Courage engine).
The Simplicity Regent is designed to be strong and reliable. Numerous accessories are available and its 12-gauge steel chassis, combined with high engine power, allows it to carry out many heavy duty tasks besides cutting.
Mowing is aided by the Simplicity free floating mower system and the easy to use height-of-cut mechanism helps ensure the best finish for your lawn.

Driving the Regent
While the first two models (the 19.5/38 and 22/44) run on Briggs and Stratton engines, the biggest Simplicity Regent (the 23/46) is equipped with a more powerful Kohler Courage engineto give that extra push on steep slopes and bumpy terrain. Whilst it can be a little loud, its speed and power make up for it.
All models have a generous 3.5 gallon fuel tank and the foot controlled two-pedal Tuff Torq K-46 Hydro transmission has cruise control as standard.
Cutting with the Regent
Simplicity is a well established company that knows how to build a heavy duty machine, but according to Simplicity’s publicity: “its all about the cut”. And the cut delivered by the Simplicity Regent is usually a very smooth one.
The base 19.5/38 model comes with a 2 blade deck, whilst the 22/44 and 23/46 models are equipped with higher spec triple blades. As with all Simplicity lawn tractors, the Free Floating mower system is installed to provide scalping free mowing. Full width rollers leave a manicured finish.
All models are side-discharge with mulching conversion possibilities. The proprietary Quick Hitch systems allows for the easy removal and cleaning of mowing decks.
The turning radius of the Simplicity Regent is exceptionally small, at only 14 or 35.6cm, allowing great manoeuvrability in tight spaces and making this one of the most agile machines in the large lawn tractor market.
Working with the Regent
The Simplicity Regent is typical of the whole range of Simplicity lawn tractors and riding lawn mowers in that it is optimised for ease of use. Controls are well placed and its high ergonomic seatallows you to mow or work with its large array of accessories for extended periods of time.
An hourmeter comes as standard on the two bigger machines and as an option on the 19.5/38. All models have cup holder, tool box, parking brake and hand grip fender rails.
A wide range of accessories are available such as:

- Mulcher/leaf shredder kit
- 35 inch (88.9 cm) Dethatcher
- 42 inch snow dozer blade (106.7 cm)
