I have had this Coronet 34″ mower 14 yrs.
It has been used a lot along with other mowers.
In this period of time I have replaced one deck belt three sets of blades and a fuel pump on Kohler Command 12.5s engine.
These mowers are great!

Thanks for your contribution Ralph.
14 years of service is pretty impressive.
These are ideal mowers for areas that are too large to mow by hand but where a a full scale tractor type mower isn’t justified.
They’re also good for people who have a fair size lawn but for whatever reason can’t handle a standard mower.
Simplicity call its latest model the the rear engine rider (pictured above – click on the small image to see the larger version).
It has a 33 inch deck and a 14.5 hp Briggs and Stratton Powerbuilt engine.
I wonder if these would last 14 years like Ralph’s Coronet.

Comments for Simplicity Coronet Riding Mower: 14 years service
|Mar 15, 2013||New Simplicity can’t compare
Glad to hear of your success with your Simplicity of 14 years. I purchased a Simplicity Prestige w/ snowblower new in 2011. Since that time, I have had a defective wiring harness, power steering failure, broken drive belts on the snowblower and tractor. Just so there is no misunderstanding on normal wear and tear, these incidents occurred with less than 25 hours on the unit. The continuing story of breakdowns entered into 2013 with my PTO clutch going out and wiring harness connectors falling off. Anyone who is using this site for research should be aware that Simplicity was bought out by Briggs and Stratton and is certainly NOT the quality of the 14 year old mower in this article. Buyer beware. These are not inexpensive tractors, which makes the pain that much worse.
